I love this! I’m thinking a lot about friendship at the moment from a neurodivergent lens and am also questioning / neuroqueering how we can create spaces that honor different types of friendships. I loved reading this from your angle and I look forward to reading more. So glad I found you both via the friendship zine 😊
Welcome!!! Understanding and exploring friendship from a neurodivergent lens…wow I love that. We are all about queering friendship from every angle! Any of these facets of “difference” impact how we connect with others, what conflicts we struggle with, and what support we need.
Do forever friends have to be of the same gender? I had a close friend before he passed. While we were very different, we spoke multiple times daily, we saw each other almost daily, and talked about things we’d like to do together. My beloved roommate/friend/sister/partner didn’t want to label our relationship. None of the words we knew fit.
Hi Mary Beth, I’m sorry to hear about the passing of your dear friend. Forevers and the types of friendships we celebrate here can be of any gender combination. It can be difficult to find labels that fit, but that doesn’t make the relationship any less valid.
I enjoy painting alongside others, or sharing how to use various media, a lot of my friends would say they're not arty. Friends who are arty I love swapping ideas with

Love this! 💖
Thank you! Do you ever bring friends into your painting practice? Either as models or collaborators in another way?
